KLcube Introduces AI Sign Language Service in Seongdong-gu Welfare Centers

KLcube has introduced AI-based sign language guidance and a three-way video call interpretation service in major welfare centers across Seongdong-gu.
This project was carried out with Seongdong-gu Office as part of the “Seongdong ESG Practice Project,” aiming to improve information accessibility and real-time communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing users visiting public welfare facilities.
Five welfare centers, including Seongdong Community Rehabilitation Center and Oksu Social Welfare Center, now use a QR code-based sign language guidance system. By scanning the QR code with a smartphone, users can easily access sign language videos for facility information, program guides, and operating hours.
In addition, KLcube’s “HandSignTalkTalk” provides a three-way video call interpretation service. Users can instantly connect with a sign language interpreter through the app, allowing staff, the interpreter, and the user to communicate together in real time for consultations and administrative support.
Unlike traditional interpretation services that require advance booking, this system allows immediate support on-site, making communication much easier and more convenient.
A KLcube representative said, “What deaf users need is not just information, but an environment where real communication is possible,” adding that the company plans to expand AI sign language services into healthcare, finance, transportation, and other public sectors.
