KL Cube Unveils AI Sign Language Technology at Japan IT Week, Emphasizing Accessibility Needs
KL Cube participated in Japan IT Week Tokyo 2026 held in Tokyo, Japan, where it showcased its AI sign language avatar technology and drew strong interest from local attendees.
As one of the major global IT exhibitions, the event provided an opportunity for KL Cube to actively introduce its sign language technology to a broader international audience.
At the exhibition, KL Cube demonstrated its AI sign language avatar platform, HandSignVerse. The system converts Japanese speech into text and then generates natural sign language videos, allowing visitors to easily understand the process in real time.
In particular, the technology attracted attention for its ability to reflect not only sign language grammar but also facial expressions and gestures. This enabled more authentic communication, going beyond simple subtitles and delivering what many described as “true sign language”-based information.
KL Cube also presented real-world use cases, including KORAIL ticketing kiosks, QR-based sign language information services for public institutions, and financial consultation scenarios. These examples illustrated how sign language can be applied across everyday life and public services, highlighting the importance of accessible communication.
Through this exhibition, KL Cube effectively raised awareness in Japan about the need for sign language-based accessibility. The company plans to further expand into the Japanese market by developing Japanese Sign Language data and advancing localization efforts step by step.
